Matrix: Resurrections
Warner Bros asked DIVE Billboards for a special global campaign to stand out from the rest… we responded by asking to film Keanu as Neo puting him “inside” a billboard as he summoned Tweets from lucky fans. The live, real-time video was featured on digital billboards in select cities in the U.S., Mexico, and Japan. Each billboard was located near a movie theater and in each city we saw a different set of Tweets (from fans who lived in that market).
The DIVE Billboard global campaign won the Adweek Experiential award in the celebrity integration category. The activation stands out as it puts real Tweets from real fans at the center of a global, digital out-of-home campaign. Locations were across the 5 regions of Mexico; Shibuya Crossing in Tokyo (billboards en route to theater at the Times Square of Japan); NYC Times Square; Miami and San Francisco strategic inventory to Castro Theater. Tweets about #TheMatrixResurrections were refreshed on the billboards throughout the campaign. People whose Tweets were featured were sent photos of their Tweets on the billboards, bringing even more engagement as users saw their Tweets promoted internationally.
