MTV VMAs

MTV VMAs is a massive Music Award event with 3.9 million viewers. Hosted by Nicki Minaj, the #VMAs event brought on a massive onslaught of Tweets from users (many “barbs” from her fanbase). Using a mixture of Tweets, VMA promotional content, and an iconic countdown to the event, Twitter Billboard lit up billboards in New York and LA.

Users were begging us to show Nicki their content and couldn’t contain their excitement after seeing their name in lights in major locations across the US. Once these super fans found out that their love for Nicki Minaj could be amplified via major iconic billboards in Times Square and LA, they began tweeting nonstop in hopes that she would see their message. The same occurred with the fans of the nominated artists, creating a frenzy of buzz on Twitter’s platform. This is the perfect example of the symbiotic relationship between Twitter and DIVE Billboards.
